12 December 2021 – News Update

My editor Sherry Anderson and I are currently reviewing the latest few fixes and updates. This has taken a bit longer than I had hoped, so book #2 will be published sometime in January 2022.

14 November 2021 – News Update

Writing of my second book, The 7th Guards Army from Kursk to Prague 1943-1945, has reached a new milestone of 221,000 words today with 27 chapters. The final map count is 77, with 45 tables and 56 photos. The work is fully documented with over 800 notes covering a wide range of sources.

My editor, Sherry Anderson, is currently reviewing the last few major text changes as I begin work on the cover design. Development of the index will be the final step.

If all goes as planned, Sherry and I should have proof copies in hand within 2-3 weeks. Barring any major changes, it should be available from Amazon.com sometime in December. Just in time for Christmas!

Once again, thanks for your support.

16 June 2021 – News Update

The 7th Guards Army from Kursk to Prague 1943-1945 has reached a milestone of 205,000 words today.  I am currently working on the March, April and May 1945 chapters.  The map count has reached 68 with another 4-6 to go before the end of the war.  There are currently 35 tables, with maybe a few more to come, with a total of 55 photos.

I now intend to publish by late 2021. My great editor, Sherry Anderson is still with me and keeping the effort moving forward.

Thanks once again for your support.

I had to change my goal to now publish in early 2021. I continue to work with my great editor, Sherry Anderson. She is keeping me honest, and busy making changes, additions, and clarifications to the text.

Thanks once again for your support.

5 May 2020 – News Update

The development of my second book The 7th Guards Army from Kursk to Prague 1943-1945 has reached a milestone of 100,000 words today! With 14 chapters completed and 37 maps so far. This true story is becoming much more complex which requires a great deal of extra research which slows the writing.

My goal continues to be publication in late 2020 but this might not be possible due to real world issues. In any event, I will not release the book until it undergoes a complete review and edit. It goes without saying that my current editor, Sherry Anderson, is doing a great job.

Thanks for your support.

19 December 2019 – Greetings to all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A short update. The Second book in well underway with seven chapters finished, 62,000 words and 22 maps so far. Despite taking time off for the holidays, researching, writing and map production never really ends. The goal continues to be publication in late 2020.

My first book, second edition, remains available on Amazon.com. It would make a great X-Mass gift 😊

6 October 2019 – A news update. My second book “From Kursk to Prague 1943-45” is in full production. This book follows the 64th Army from Stalingrad to the Kursk area, and then continues the story until the end of the war. The first five chapters, March-July 43, are basically finished with about 45,000 words and 15 maps. I continue to work with a new editor which speeds up the writing process and greatly increases the overall quality. Publishing date is still set to be sometime in late 2020.

Once again thanks for your support.

20 June – The Second Edition of my book “The 64th Army at Stalingrad 1942-43” is now live on Amazon.com. The old version is still showing up on the Amazon site as “Out of Print”, with no price, and It should go away soon.

I have been working with a new editor and this second edition has been carefully edited and reviewed. The story/text has been expanded somewhat with new material. Minor edits were performed on the maps and a new Appendix #20, was added. Overall this version is much cleaner which will make it easier to read and understand. Several somewhat confusing sections have been rewritten to clarify the text and expand the story.

My book is selling for the same price as before. The only difference is the Kindle version is not yet ready due to issues with KDP publishing.

Thanks once again for your support.

———————————————————–

28 May – Proof copies are in hand. Final review is underway but my editor and I are taking somewhat longer to finish. The second edition should be live on Amazon soon. It is well worth the wait if you want to pick up my book. Thanks again.

5 Dec – Greetings All
The updated Kindle and paperback version of my book is now live on Amazon. I believe people who bought the Kindle version can go back to Amazon.com and download the updated e-version of the book for free.

If you want to view some pages of the book, go to Amazon.com and use the “Look Inside” feature which allows you to read a few pages, and view some of the maps. This gives you a good idea of how I laid out the entire book and it also provides a hint of the detailed story about the 64th Army at Stalingrad.

Once again thanks for your support.

4 Dec – The paperback version of my book has also been updated. The same spelling, punctuation and layout issues have been fixed along with a minor amount of new text.

Amazon now offers a much cleaner “Look Inside” feature which allows you to read a few pages and look at some of the maps. This gives you a good idea of how detailed the story is about the 64th Army at Stalingrad.

3 Dec – The CreateSpace self-Publishing part of Amazon.com is now being handled by Kindle Direct Publishing or KDP. The process is about the same with maybe a bit more quality control, which is good.

1 Dec – An updated Kindle version of my book went live on Amazon today. This update fixed a few spelling, punctuation and layout issues. The Kindle version looks much better now.
